Collaboration on Epidemiological Studies of Endometrial Cancer

The Collaboration on Epidemiological Studies of Endometrial Cancer conducts pooled analyses of international data on endometrial cancer. Set up in 2005, the collaboration currently includes data on over 14,000 women with endometrial cancer from 24 studies worldwide. Several research projects are on-going investigating the role of hormonal, reproductive and other factors on the risk of the disease.

The first meeting of the Collaboration was held in Oxford in 2007. Data from 24 studies is available and several more studies are expected to join the collaboration. Current and planned work includes detailed analyses of the use of hormonal contraceptives and of hormone replacement therapy on risk of endometrial cancer, as well as analyses of other risk factors such as body mass index.
