Cardiovascular Epidemiologist

After finishing his medical degree at the University of the Philippines in 1997, he obtained a PhD in epidemiology at the University of Cambridge in 2003 and has pursued research in obesity and cardiovascular disease. He has a wide interest in longitudinal studies and life course epidemiology and has collaborated with birth cohorts to explore early life determinants of adult chronic diseases. Dexter joined the unit in December 2010 to focus on cardiovascular disease outcomes in the Million Women Study. He is currently interested in understanding determinants of women’s health, including the role of obesity and other lifestyle and reproductive factors on cardiovascular disease.
