Angel Wong
BSc, MSc
Early Career Research Fellow
Angel is an Early Career Research Fellow in the Cancer Epidemiology Unit, and her current research examines the relationships between sleep characteristics and dementia risk using data collected from large-scale, population-based studies, such as the Million Women Study and the UK Biobank. The objectives are to identify potential risk factors for dementia and to improve the understanding of the role of sleep in health in adults.
Her DPhil thesis examined the associations of sleep characteristics with breast cancer risk and the association of urinary melatonin with breast cancer risk in women. She has a background in public health, and prior to joining the Unit, she completed an MSc in Global Health Science at Oxford, with her dissertation focusing on the association between cardiovascular risk factors and frailty.
