Mahboubeh Parsaeian

PhD

Senior Medical Statistician

Mahboubeh Parsaeian is a senior medical statistician in the Cancer Epidemiology Unit (CEU). She obtained MSc and Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Tehran University of Medical Science. She has nine years of teaching and research experience in survival models, longitudinal studies, multivariate analysis, and disease modelling especially using a Bayesian framework.

Within CEU, her primary focus lies in programming and statistical modelling of large-scale prospective epidemiological studies such as EPIC-Oxford and the UK Biobank to investigate the role of lifestyle, dietary, molecular, and genetic factors in cancer and other prevalent non-communicable diseases.

Before joining CEU, Mahboubeh worked at Imperial College London where she contributed to programming and the development of sophisticated statistical models to measure key health outcomes at population levels in the United States and United Kingdom. These models harness the potential of routine data to construct a robust evidence base for policy and practice.
